Drummer David Cowan, a.k.a. “The Young Professor”, has had drumming in his blood since birth but actually began playing at the age of 10, when he received a drum set for Christmas. This Christmas would mark the beginning of the end of his social life as he spent most of his waking hours in his room, on the drums, from that day forward.
But his love of music has paid off well. He has traveled the world performing with some of the world’s greatest and most loved musicians and performers, including Brian McKnight, All-4-One, Clark Terry, The Boston Pops, Lalah Hathaway, Frank McComb, Shirley Caesar, Ali Woodson, Daryl Coley, Jennifer Holiday, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Tom Coster, Abraham Laboriel Sr. Walter Beasley, Andre Ward, Errica Campbell (from gospel duo Mary Mary) and many more. Currently, David is promoting the latest release from his LA based Afro-Latin funk/Rock band One Tribe Nation! The critically acclaimed album is called “It’s Time” is due for hard release in May 2012.
